StarEFX™ panels bring a captivating starry night effect to any interior while delivering excellent acoustic performance. Designed for simple installation on either ceilings or walls, each lightweight panel is secured using six screws, providing both a visual and functional upgrade to your space.
Integration is seamless thanks to the low-voltage ‘Power Link’ cable system, which enables a clean daisy-chain connection. Up to 24 modular panels can be powered from a single power supply, simplifying wiring and reducing installation complexity.
What makes StarEFX truly unique is that no two panels are alike. Each one features a randomly arranged constellation of shimmering white stars, offering a one-of-a-kind aesthetic and creating a warm, enchanting ambiance in any room.
Important Installation Note:
When installing across a large ceiling area, it is essential to ensure the underlying structure is adequately supported. In some cases, particularly where the drywall may not be securely fixed to ceiling joists or furring channels, we recommend using battens to reinforce the mounting surface. This ensures a safe, stable, and long-lasting installation.
Applications and use
Each StarEFX™ panel features its own dedicated light source that illuminates the uniquely arranged fibre optic stars embedded within. The random star pattern ensures every panel offers a distinct visual experience.
Panels can be easily trimmed to fit custom spaces using a sharp utility knife or box cutter, without sacrificing any fibre optics. When resizing is required, a new hole can be carefully made using a 0.0335" (0.85 mm) pin. Simply poke the new hole and reinsert the fiber into the new opening, maintaining the star effect and preserving both aesthetics and functionality.
Acoustic Performance Where It Matters Most
In addition to its stunning visual display, the StarEFX™ panel enhances the acoustic comfort of any space. Designed with high-density materials and tested to industry standards, it significantly reduces mid-to-high frequency noise, making it ideal for environments where clarity, focus, and a sense of calm are essential. Whether it’s a home theatre, sensory room, classroom, or healthcare space, StarEFX™ helps create a more immersive and acoustically balanced experience.

Both the black and light grey panels are standard colours that provide a clean, contemporary look, seamlessly integrating into any setting.
Panel Styles
StarEFX™ panels are available in two edge finishes to suit different visual preferences:
These options allow flexibility in both functional layout and visual styling to suit residential or commercial interiors.
Operation
A 240v power outlet is required for the 12V power supply that powers the first panel. For additional panels, the power link cable provided with each panel is used to create a daisy chain connection. Up to 24 panels can be connected from the one power supply.
White colour stars starry effect
The panels operate in a simple on/off mode that displays beautiful shimmering white lights. To turn on or off the starlights, you will need to use a wall switch in addition to the power supply. This allows for convenient and easy control of the starlights.

An optional LED strip can be installed along the perimeter of the C-channels, creating a soft, glowing edge effect that adds depth and ambiance to the ceiling installation. The LED strip adheres directly to the C-channel using its adhesive backing.
The LED strip is powered independently by a 240V to 24V DC, 250W power supply. This setup allows for flexible control and ensures that the lighting system remains isolated from the panel's power circuitry.
During installation, make sure that the LED strip is evenly aligned and centered within the trim channel. This ensures a uniform glow and maintains the clean, professional finish of the StarEFX™ ceiling.
This aesthetic enhancement does not affect the installation of the panel.

Preparation
1. Determine the panel’s orientation to be mounted onto the ceiling.
2, Determine the offset distance from each wall so the StarEFX ceiling is centered.
2. Mark out the area on the ceiling where the panel will be mounted.
3. Mark and cut out out the area where the power supply will be inserted through the ceiling.
4. Install power outlet and wall switch
5. Plug the power supply into the power outlet
- Leave approx. 1 metre of the 12v power cable suspended from the ceiling allowing accessibility.
6. Install the StarEFX panel
Installation - Plaster Ceilings
1. Prepare the Ceiling
Fix battens securely to ceiling joists, ensuring they are level and aligned with the intended panel layout.
Note: Measure and mark the ceiling area to ensure the StarEFX panels are centered and evenly offset from each wall. This creates a symmetrical, professional finish and avoids panels terminating directly against the walls.
2. Install Border Concealment (if required)
To hide the exposed battens, use the provided black aluminium C-channels.
Fix the C-channel onto the edge of each batten, ensuring the lip of the channel runs upward toward the ceiling.
When the panel is installed, it will slot into the C-channel, and the lip will conceal the batten, creating a clean border.
Optional: If you choose not to use C-channel borders, you may use a painted quad or similar trim to conceal the battens and achieve a tidy finish.
3. Unpack and Inspect
Carefully remove the panel from its packaging.
Identify the power link cable located in the accessories kit.
4. Electrical Connection
Raise the panel close to the ceiling.
Connect the power supply cable to the panel’s onboard LED module.
5. Cable Management
Create a small cut-out on the panel’s border to seat the cable that connects to the next panel.
This prevents pressure between the panel and the drywall.
Neatly place the cable into the cut-out.
Position the panel in its marked location, ready for fixing.
6. Secure the Panel
Fix the panel to the battens using the six anchor screws and a Phillips screwdriver.
Important: Do not overtighten. Over-tensioning may damage the panel or pierce through the surface.
7. Finishing Touches
Insert the six screw caps/plugs to conceal the screw heads for a clean and professional finish.
8. Power On
Turn on the power to activate the StarEFX lighting system.
Notes:
Panels are low-voltage and safe to handle during installation, but any electrical work should follow local safety regulations.
Panels should be aligned precisely and mounted flush against battens or channels for optimal acoustic and visual effect.
Ensure C-channels are securely mounted before panel installation.
1. Power Supply Setup
Identify a suitable location near a power outlet for the 12V power supply.
Ensure the power supply is easily accessible for maintenance and within reach of the first panel in your layout.
2. Install the First Panel
Locate the starting position in the ceiling grid closest to the power supply.
Carefully place the first StarEFX Panel into the grid system, ensuring it sits securely on the T-bar frame.
Connect the power supply cable to the first panel.
3. Daisy Chain Additional Panels
Use the power link cables provided with each panel to connect the first panel to the second panel.
Continue connecting panels in a daisy chain configuration, ensuring each cable is securely inserted into the corresponding connector.
As you go, place each panel into the grid, verifying that it is level and properly supported by the frame.
4. Final Testing
Once all panels are installed and connected:
Turn on the power supply.
Verify that each panel powers on correctly.
Installation Notes
Ensure all connections are secure and cables are not pinched or strained within the grid.
Power supplies and controllers should remain accessible above the ceiling for future maintenance.
Panels are low-voltage and safe to handle during installation, but any electrical work should follow local safety regulations.
1. Connecting the Power Supply
Start with the power input cable from the power supply.
Plug this cable into either of the two DC input ports on the LED module of the first StarEFX panel.
Both input ports are interchangeable, so you may use either one.
Ensure the connector is firmly and fully inserted to avoid loose connections or power interruptions.
2. Linking Additional Panels
Take a power link cable and connect it to the second DC port on the first panel's LED module.
Plug the other end of the power link cable into either port on the second panel’s LED module.
This forms a daisy-chain connection, enabling power to pass through from one panel to the next.
3. Final Checks
Confirm that all connectors are securely fastened and seated correctly.
Arrange cables neatly to prevent obstruction or accidental disconnection.
Before powering on, verify that all panels are compatible with the power supply’s output specifications to ensure safe and efficient operation.
